Mission Statement - What's it all about?

Each September, a wonderful group of people put their own lives aside, take themselves outside their comfort zone and ride 1,000 kms to help kids who are living with cancer.

In September 2011, the first Ride took place. The initial Ride was for 400 kms from Armidale to Maitland with 19 riders and 10 support crew taking part and was named “Ride 4 Kids”. The Ride was a great success with an initial gross predicted income of $60,000.00, the ride exceeded budget and $114,500.00 was raised.

At the request of several of the riders who wanted to return the following year, the distance was increased to 1,000 kms so that it would be a real challenge and so the 1,000 K’s 4 Kids was born. Having completed its fourth year, the Ride has raised in excess of $1,000,000.00 for kids who are living with cancer and their families.

The Camp Quality 1,000 Ks 4 Kids Supreme – Newcastle is designed for ordinary people wanting to do the extraordinary by challenging themselves to ride 750 km over 8 days starting and finishing in Warners Bay, while raising funds for kids living with cancer.

On departure from Warners Bay, over 8 days participants will ride via Dungog, Pacific Palms, Gloucester, Gresford, Muswellbrook, Merriwa & Singleton before pedalling to the finish line back in Warners Bay.

The ride is full of mateship, teamwork, long days, blood, sweat and tears. However, it’s also full of fun, optimism and resilience. Together they struggle, laugh and conquer.
